Welcome To the Southwest Metro Mustang Club!
Who are we?
Greetings fellow Ford Mustang enthusiasts. The SWMMC was started by David and Pete in 2012. Since then, the club has grown to over 150 proud Pony owners. Despite our club name, we have members from Waconia to Hudson, and from Ham Lake to Northfield - and many points in between. We are the Twin Cities chartered Mustang Club of America chapter, and we are as busy and active as any Minnesota car club!
Club members own old Mustangs, new Mustangs, fast Mustangs, unrestored Mustangs, daily drivers, and a few trailer queens. A few members are proud owners of Fords other than Mustangs, and we've even got folks that have other brands of collector cars in their stable as well. While all of our paths to this point were different, our excitement and passion for the Ford Mustang is the same.
Why do we exist?
The purpose of the SWMMC is to provide area Mustang owners the opportunity to share their automotive experience by building a forum and group for interacting. Whether it's the pride of ownership, the drive to be the fastest, the effort of modifying your ride, the desire to share car stories, or the fun of being associated with like-minded car enthusiasts, the SWMMC hopes to provide a place to explore and enjoy your Mustang journey.
One of our main goals is to be associated with local charities. Through participation and advocacy, the SWMMC provides awareness and volunteerism via organized charity events and club activities. In the short time we've been together, we've donated over $5,000 to a variety of charities. We are currently partnered with the Automotive Technology program at Prior Lake High School, with the purpose of advancing the automotive hobby with the next generation of young people.
What activities do we want to organize?
SWMMC activities revolve around group drives occurring monthly April through October. We also hold 3-4 car shows per year. We also have a monthly club meeting to discuss club business. See our calendar for upcoming club events and club meetings. Explore the club newsletter archive and our Shutterfly site for past cruises, events and shows.
How do we exist?
The SWMMC is not a commercial group. We are supported by our dues paying members. Dues are $20 per year. Your membership not only connects you with some really great folks, and gives access to our communications for events, it also includes:
1. SWMMC membership card
2. SWMMC window cling
3. SWMMC club name tag
4. A monthly newsletter
5. 15% discount on parts at Apple Ford Shakopee
6. Special dealer pricing on ordered new Mustangs
The club doesn't allow solicitations, or recommendatons for Mustang related services. Mechanics, shops, dealers, and web sites will be allowed provided they refer to actual member experiences. Should a business desire to be mentioned on the SWMMC website, or want sponsor activities, the request will be evaluated by the membership to determine alignment with the club goals.
We hope to see you at a club meeting or event!
