Who are we?
Greetings fellow Ford
Mustang enthusiasts. The SWMMC was started by David and Pete, two mid-life
guys that finally could afford a pony due to Ford's fantastic Mustang re-birth
in 2005. The retro styling, muscle car throw back and great performance
contribute to our Mustang mania. Our paths to this point were different,
but our excitement and passion for the Ford Mustang is the same.
Why we exist?
The purpose of the SWMMC is to provide area Mustang owners the
opportunity to share their automotive experience by building a forum and group
for communicating. Whether it's the pride of ownership, the drive to be
the fastest, the effort of modifying your ride, the desire to share car stories,
or the fun of being associated with like-minded car owners, the SWMMC hopes to
provide a place to explore and enjoy your Mustang journey.
One of our
main goals is to be associated with the Miracles of Mitch Foundation charity. Through participation and advocacy, the SWMMC will provide awareness and
volunteerism via organized charity events and club activities.
What
activities do we want to organize?
SWMMC activities will revolve around
group drives occurring about once a month May through September. Ideas
under consideration include a day trip to Grove Creek Dragstrip, a trip to
Hinckley casino for lunch, a trip to Bo Diddley's in St Joseph for lunch,
organized visits to the monthly Autoplex open houses in Chanhassen, group visits
to local car shows, a group ride to a local shooting range for trap/target
shooting. Specific activities involving the Miracles of Mitch Foundation
have not been explored to date.
How we will exist?
The SWMMC is
not a commercial group. No solicitations will be allowed. Recommendations for Mustang related services - mechanics, shops, dealers -
and web sites will be allowed provided they refer to actual member experiences. Should a business desire to be mentioned on the SWMMC web site or want to
sponsor activities, the request will be evaluated by the membership to measure
the postings merits and alignment with the club's goals.
Dues are not
expected. The web site administration and organizational efforts are
performed as part of the club experience without monetary reward.
